1. Kemen and Uriel started the day with a heart to heart talk. While Uriel apologized for not saving Kemen, the later opened up about his own struggles and said he wasn't upset she didn't save him.

Buhari under fire over inaction on Acting Chief Justice Onnoghen

Two weeks to the expiration of the three months tenure of Walter Onnoghen as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, there is growing disquiet over the failure of President Muhammadu Buhari to forward his name to the Senate for confirmation as substantive head of Nigeria’s judiciary.

The National Judicial Council had on October 6, 2016 recommended Mr. Onnoghen to President Buhari as successor to Mahmud Mohammed whose tenure was to expire on November 9, 2016.

But rather than immediately forward the name to the Senate for confirmation or reject the recommendation, the President on November 10 appointed Mr. Onnoghen to the office in acting capacity. That appointment will lapse on February 10 based on a constitutional provision.

"Gidi Up" 1st look at season 3 features Bobrisky, Odunlade Adekola

Ndani TV has released the first "Gidi Up" season 3 teaser featuring Bobrisky, Odunlade Adekola, OC Ukeje, Deyemi Okanlawon, Moyo Lawal among others.

"Gidi Up" is back for a third season and Ndani TV has released its first teaser.

The teaser which features some of the show's old cast also features new additions including Bobrisky and Odunlade Adekola.

The teaser promises a sexier, more dramatic, grimey hustle, wilder parties and scandalous season.

The upcoming third season stars returning actors Deyemi Okanlawon (Tokunbo), Daniel Effiong (Folarin), OC Ukeje (Obi), Titilope Sonuga (Eki), Somkele Idhalama (Yvonne).

"Black Panther" Marvel releases plot, full cast of upcoming superhero movie

On Thursday, January 26, Marvel studios announced that filming had kicked off on the upcoming superhero movie, "Black Panther."
Marvel also released an official synopsis and a full cast list which compromises mostly of already confirmed actors.

Update: Hours after, Harrysong released from police custody

Earlier yesterday, LIB exclusively reported the arrest of Harrysong by his estranged label, Five Star Music. He was held at the the Onikan command zone of the state police command. Now we can confirm that he has been released. Details of his condition of release is yet to be made public. Harrysong and his team are currently preparing a statement to address the issue.

Tekno Becomes Highest Paid African Artiste By Sony Music – Reports

Last year, it was reported that singer, Tekno, had snagged a Sony Music deal with details of the concealed until now.

According to Paul O, via Instagram, Tekno, has become the highest paid African artiste by Sony, as he got a whooping $4million deal.

Big congrats to him.

J. Cole ‘4 Your Eyez Only’ Earns Gold Certification

J. Cole’s latest album 4 Your Eyez Only received a mixed reaction from fans, but still managed to move 492k copies in the first week and grab the number 1 spot on Billboard 200.

Now just four weeks later, RIAA has certified the album as Gold for shipping in access of 500k copies. The actual sales are of course much more than this already but certifications are not awarded so quick.

Cole is also pushing his music to the radio. This past week, he picked and sent the controversial song ‘Deja Vu’ as the first single from the album.

Mary Chiamaka Akajiobi, a 2014 Pharmacy graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Kumasi, Ghana, died in a ghastly motor accident along Abuja-Kaduna express road, on Tuesday, January 10th, just three days after her engagement (read here). She was aged 26. Until her death, late Miss Akajiobi was undergoing the compulsory one year National Youth Service programme in Kaduna State and was due to pass out in March. She was laid to rest on Saturday, January 14th, in her hometown, Umudunu, Awka-Etiti in Anambra State. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

Akufo-Addo sworn in as president of Ghana

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of New Patriotic Party has been sworn in as the president of the Republic of Ghana.

He was led by the Chief Justice, Theodora Georgina Wood to take the oath of office before thousands of people and African leaders at the inaugural ceremony, which held at the Black Stars square today.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has now taken over from John Dramani Mahama.
