"The Gifted" 7 things you need to know about this Marvel comics based TV series

"The Gifted"

Here’s everything you need to know the new X-Men based TV series.

1. “The Gifted” is about mutants. When two high school kids Andy and Lauren Strucker discover they have mutant powers after a bullying incident with Andy, their parents are forced to trust an underground society to protect them from the government.

2. Ironically, the father of the teens Reed Strucker arrests mutants for a living.
3. Surveillance drones and mechanical spiders are used to track down mutants in the series which almost seems to be set in present day.
4. The Marvel drama has ties with the X-Men despite the show being independent of the X-Men movies or X-Men comics’ storylines.

5. The show features classic X-men characters including Blink (a teleporter), Polaris (who has the power of magnetism), and Thunderbird (who has athletic ability).
6. It introduces a new X-men - Eclipse (who manipulates protons).  It’s still not clear how exactly the show fits into the X-Men universe.

7. American comic book writer and film executive Stan Lee also makes a cameo appearance in the pilot of the series.
The series features American actors like Amy Acker, Blair Redford, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Jamie Chung, Stephen Moyer and Sean Teale.
