The Premier League is one of the most popular in Africa, watched by millions who see their countrymen every weekend.
These Africans stars who have plied their trade in England over the years have also scored some fantastic goals.
We take a look at 10 of these goals in no particular order.

1. Drogba for Chelsea Vs Liverpool, September 2006

Ivorian Didier Drogba was once the king of Stamford Bridge. It was at the stadium that he scored one of the best Premier League goals scored by an African.
In a league clash in September 2006, Drogba scored the only goal of the game, taking a touch with his chest to bring down a pass from Frank Lampard before turning swiftly to shoot the ball which had just bounced off the ground past a Pepe Reina.

2. Kanu for Arsenal against Chelsea,  October 1999

‘Kanu you believe it’ legendary football commentator Martin Tyler screamed after Kanu Nwankwo completed a hattrick for Arsenal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with a sensational goal.
After scoring two goals to level for Arsenal who had gone behind 2-0 to Chelsea, Kanu rounded up his remarkable day with a fantastic goal. Rounding up the Chelsea goalkeeper Ed De Goeyjust in the edge of the 18-year-old and curling from a tight angle to complete his hat-trick.

3. Tony Yeboah for Leeds Vs Wimbledon, September 1995

Tony Yeboah is a cult hero at Elland Road due to his very memorable stint at Leeds United between 1995-1997.
He scored a couple of insane goals but it’s his strike against Wimbledon that made it to this list.
After controlling a ball twice, he feigned a shot before driving an unstoppable drive into the top right corner. It was voted Goal of the Season in 1995–96.

4. Cisse for Newcastle United Vs Chelsea, March 2012

Senegalese star Papiss Cisse stunned Stamford Bridge with his unstoppable goal for Newcastle United in a Premier League clash in March 2012.
Receiving a pass from the left, the then Newcastle United striker struck a swerving and angled shot with the outside of his right foot that curved fiercely and fired past Petr Cech.

5. Cheick Tiote Vs Newcastle United Vs Arsenal, February 2011

Newcastle United had managed to score three goals after fallen behind 4-0 to Arsenal before Cheick Tiote of blessed memory struck with the last kick of the game to complete the stunning comeback.
Standing just outside the penalty area, Tiote got his left foot on a clearance from a freekick which flew into the Arsenal net for one of the most memorable Premier League goals of the last decade.

6. Aiyegbeni for Middlesbrough Vs Chelsea, February 2006

Yakubu Aiyegbeni remains one of the finest African strikers to grace the Premier League. He grabbed a goal that made it to the list, taking the ball and dribbling past several Chelsea defenders before firing past Cech.

7. Jay Jay Okocha for Bolton Vs West Ham, April 2003

In a game against fellow relegation battlers West Ham in 2003, Austin 'Jay Jay' Okocha scored a screamer in the 1-0 win for Bolton Wanderers.
Picking up the ball in Bolton’s half and running towards the West Ham’s goal. Tackled and almost falling at the edge of the West Ham box, Okocha released a thunderous shot past  West Ham goalkeeper David James.
It was a very vital goal which gave Bolton all the three points to save them from the drop.

8. Essien for Chelsea Vs Arsenal, December 2006

Ghana legend Michael Essien scored a rocket for Chelsea in a home 1-1 draw with Arsenal in December 2006.
Chelsea were trailing and their 51-game unbeaten run at Stamford Bridge was on the line when Essien struck an unstoppable and curling effort to equalise. It was top quality.

9. Martins for Newcastle United Vs Bolton, August 2007

While he is not a great goalscorer, Obafemi Martins is undoubtedly a scorer of great goals.  He scored one of these goals for Newcastle United in a 3-1 away win over Bolton Wanderers in August 2007.
Unmarked in the Bolton’s box, Martins controlled a cross from James Milner' before scoring with an overhead kick.

10 Adebayor for Arsenal Vs Tottenham,  September 2007

Look before he became a villain to Arsenal fans, Emmanuel Adebayor was a fans’ favourite, scoring tons of goals during his stay with the Gunners.
In September 2007, he netted a volley for Arsenal at the ground of their fierce rivals Tottenham. First flicking a pass to his right before driving an unstoppable volley into the top corner for Arsenal’s winner.
