The official trailer for "Banana Island Ghost" was unveiled during a press conference.
The event which held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, was attended by cast and crew of the movie.
Speaking about his thoughts while scripting the movie, the director and writer of the movie, BB Sasore, said he couldn't remember what went through his mind.
The "Before 30" director said he was encouraged by the co-founder of Filmhouse Cinemas, Kene Mkparu, to write a genre that would bring returns to his investors and in turn, build the kind of Nollywood he wants.
According to Sasore, he used to write lots of heavy scripts until Kene Mkparu asked 'what are you doing? Nobody is going to make this. Who is going to see this? Write a comedy."
"Write something that you would have to bring returns to your investors to grow the industry to get to make the type of pictures you want to make."
"That's the truth about any industry in the world," Sasore added.
"So, it's not that we all just want to make comedy. There's room for other types of genres. But, how do you take these genres and sort of expand them to bring returns to people?
"So, it just sounded like a ghost hunting Chigurl would be perfect. There's not too much to do after that. You turn on the camera and get out of the way.
"Look at these people (cast), you turn on the camera and get out of the way."
